Harbor Care solicits and gratefully accepts in-kind gifts that help the organization further and fulfill its mission.  

Accepted Items:

Welcome Home and Basic Essential Personal Hygiene Kits are greatly appreciated by our clients and staff.

**All items must be NEW; no used items are to be included in personal care kits. **

Harbor Care Donation Form

Basic Essential Personal Hygiene Kit for Women:
(minimum 5 kits, not individual items) 

  • soap and/or wet wipes 

  • shampoo 

  • toothpaste 

  • toothbrush 

  • deodorant/antiperspirant 

  • feminine hygiene products (napkins, wipes, tampons) 

  • large Ziploc freezer bag to hold items 

Basic Essential Personal Hygiene Kit for Men:
(minimum 5 kits, not individual items) 

  • soap and/or wet wipes 

  • shampoo 

  • toothpaste 

  • toothbrush 

  • deodorant/antiperspirant 

  • large Ziploc freezer bag to hold items 


Basic Essential Personal Hygiene Kit for Children:
(minimum 5 kits, not individual items) 

  • baby shampoo 

  • baby powder 

  • children’s toothbrush 

  • children’s toothpaste 

  • diapers/wipes

Welcome Home Kits for Veterans and the Chronically Homeless: 

To be given to those transitioning from homelessness to stable housing, including Veterans, people who are Chronically Homeless, and women and children in our Cynthia Day Family Center.  

**Must be assembled kits in containers (laundry basket, plastic bin) or cash equivalent, not individual items.** 

  • Kitchen trashcan 

  • Laundry bag/basket & detergent 

  • Liquid dish soap 

  • Medium saucepan with lid  

  • Oven mitt 

  • Paper towels 

  • Plates, bowls & cups 

  • Plunger 

  • Sheets/blankets (twin size) 

  • Shower liner & rings 

  • Spatula/cooking spoons 

  • Toilet paper 

  • Trash bags 

  • 60-watt light bulbs (LED preferred) 

  • All-purpose cleaner 

  • Baking sheet 

  • Bars of soap 

  • Bath & hand towels, wash cloths 

  • Broom/mop/bucket 

  • Can opener 

  • Cleaning sponges 

  • Clothes hangers 

  • Dish towels 

  • Forks, spoons & knives 

  • Frying pan 


Other Items for Consideration: 

  • Gift cards/Gas cards/Uber cards 

  • New Furniture/Mattresses (twin beds, dressers, small kitchen tables/chairs) 

  • New Household items – complete bedding and/or dishware sets 

  • New Air conditioners  

  • New Tents 

  • New Sleeping bags 

**All donations must be delivered to Harbor Care by the donor.** 

We cannot accept used items at this time, this includes: 

  • Mattresses of any kind and/or bedding 

  • Appliances 

  • Computers  

  • Clothing  

  • Footwear/shoes 

  • Books 

  • Food - Opened, Homemade or Expired

Harbor Care does not accept gifts that are in conflict with its mission, jeopardize its IRS status as a tax-exempt charity under section 501(c)(3), or are too difficult to administer in relation to their value, and reserves the right to reject any gift made to the organization.
